Description

'Fate changes faster than the death of light
You provide the envy and I'll provide the spite
Reflections cutting every face in two
Casting shadows in the pale shade of blue'
~ The Birthday Massacre, 'Blue'

Made for the 'De-Cliche and Surreal It' Challenge at ManipulateThis
- Level 2.

I've wanted to try using glass within a manip for ages, so thought this would be the perfect time. It also meant I could test out cracked and shard brushes :3. I raided the photomanips on here for any that showed a girl falling through a mirror, and found very little that bore a remote resemblance. Lots of looking into said mirror, or coming out. But very little breaking through. I also wanted to experiment with gravity, or lack of. The sky, which should be above, is infront; and the girl, who should be falling down, is travelling backwards. Lastly, I figured that the 'cliche' of a stock model is using it as is - so Ihacked her up and combined her with another girl. Worked very well, in my opinion. Ok, explanation over. :)

Very creative approach to the mirror effect. I've seen many variation of this type of work but yours is one of the most original I've ever seen! Great work decliche-ing the whole theme:clap:

My only suggestion is to try to add some faint warmer colours to the reflections in her clothes to better connect her to the rest of the image.

Otherwise, amazing work!!
